Sarah - Fort Wayne, Indiana Wedding and Portrait Photographer Morgan Ruth Photography
Last night left me speechless. I know I say that a lot lately but its just because its true! I've had so many amazing sessions and weddings this year, I can't help but feel like the luckiest girl in the world! I've been photographing Sarah since she was in the 5th grade. It has been so wonderful watching her grow in to the beautiful, smart and driven woman that she is now and I am thrilled to see where the next journey in life takes her as she begins college.
This session was weeks in the making. After having an incredibly dry summer leaving much of our area ugly and dead we suddenly started having a lot of yucky rainy days. So every time we would reschedule...it would be a gross day again. I am so happy to know that Sarah and her mom trust me and knew that the rescheduling would be worth it. I've had this session in my head all summer and I knew exactly how I wanted it...and a rainy day just wouldn't cut it. So flash forward to yesterday when the weather man was predicting...you guessed it...more weather and severe storms threatening our area, I instantly became frustrated and felt like mother nature had it out for me. I thought to myself..."Morgan, you should just do the session. Who knows how long you're going to wait for the sunset and golden light you're dreaming of!" So, we did the session. It wasn't a bad day at all, just lots of off and on again clouds, its just that I was dreaming of shooting in the woods at a river and I needed lots of light for this to work the way I wanted it to. When we met up at the park magic happened. It was like the heavens opened up just for Sarah's pictures. Rays of light were literally beaming down onto her. It was absolutely gorgeous and even better than I had imagined.
Sarah was a natural. If she had any reservations or was nervous being in front of the camera...then she did a stellar job hiding it. She moved so gracefully through poses that I grew envious of her. I recently had my picture taken for my website update that I am working on and let me tell you....being as good as she is in front of the camera isn't something we all can do!! I can't wait to have her model for me in an upcoming styled shoot this winter!
